How many more innocent people are going to be killed?
My response to Kaamil Ahmed’s questions for his research on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict:
WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU KNOW ABOUT IT?
The bullshit’s been happening since the British agreed with the Zionist mission to create a Jewish ‘homeland’ in Palestine in 1917. The Balfour Declaration is seen by many to be the start of the conflict which has lasted nearly one hundred years.
Migration there increased a lot during and after the persecution of the Jews during the Second World War.
Now the Zionists (in the area now called Israel) are spreading fear and hatred. In the last week they have killed hundreds, but for the last century they have killed many thousands. Many more Palestinians have been displaced as a result of the actions of Israeli murderers.
The Israeli government bulldoze innocent peoples homes and are expanding the walls they created to separate Palestinians and Israelis, while stopping water, food and medical supplies from reaching those outside of Israel.
The aim is to establish a bigger Israeli state, and the reason why the US government and the UN are doing nothing but talking is because the Western governments see Israel as a state which secures Western interests in the region.
Of all the recipients of US aid, from the slums of South America to the poorest people of the African continent, Israel is the biggest. With all this money, it’s military is a formidable force: the stones of a thousand Palestinian kids are no match for the one of many tanks that Israel holds.
Okay, I’m blubbering on now, but if you want more info, let me know. I did a presentation on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so I can send you my material and presentation via e-mail.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY’S RESPONSE?
I admire those who stopped all that they were doing to march a few days ago. Later on on this Saturday, I hope millions more march in response to this human disaster.
Those who are fighting against the Zionists in Palestine, and those who are holding placards and screaming on the streets worldwide: these are the people who define the international community. These are the masses. These are the people.
Those who supposedly represent us (e.g. those involved in international politics), and those who have expressed the same sentiment I guess many of us feel, but have the power to do something other than diplomatic blabber, are not doing enough. Sanctions on Israel, aid to Palestinians and even an international military presence in the region must happen now. Not next week, or tomorrow, but now. Each life matters.
WHO ARE THE VICTIMS?
There are people who want to kill the Israelis. Why? Because people in Israel have taken a land which was not their’s, and they have killed innocent men, women and children. There are innocent Israelis who have been killed too, and they must be considered to be victims as well.
But the recent military attacks which the Israeli government justified as a response to “mortar attacks” from Palestine is totally uncalled for. It’s like what Jay-Z said he’d do to NaS in “Takeover” when the two New York heavyweights were battling: “we kill you motherfuckin’ ants with a sledgehammer.” Thing is, this time it’s real. And I wouldn’t be surprised if I found out that one of the top heads of the Israeli government said this sorta shit in their mass-homicide-meetings.
There are victims on both sides, but many more on the Palestinian side. In the same way that freedom fighters of the past were seen to be terrorists; like when Jose Rizal died for his countrymen, executed for fighting for the Filipino people; like when Mandela was jailed for his fight against apartheid, it is difficult to see difficult now to see who are the terrorists, and who are fighting for what they had and loved, and have and love today.
For those of you in London, if you believe that the killing of innocent people to an unwarranted degree is wrong, please join us in standing up for what you believe in at our march against the recent escalation of violence. See here for more information:
